Abstract

The text stems from a project to verify the work equipment’s compliance with safety minimum requirements in two production lines of a cork company. As the cork industry is an ever expanding and constantly developing market, it is necessary to implement measures that follow the technological evolution of the machinery and the existing legal framework. In the project, the legal compliance of work equipment belonging to the two production lines was verified, based on the legal framework of safety machinery and work equipment, and the definition of an action plan to correct detected problems. This work is just a beginning of the long way that the company has to do, so that all its machines and other equipment’s are legally compliant. With the analysis and intervention carried out on these two production lines, namely with the implementation of the proposed measures (eg, production, posting and explanation of safety instructions), workers are safer and more informed about the dangers that machines carry and the maintenance services can act directly on flagged problems.
