Nowadays, one of the biggest challenges to the Health and Safety at Work are the psychosocial risks, due to the profound transformations in the labour world. The rising of precariousness, the excess of work hours, the lack of organisational involvement in decisions, the work-family balance difficulties, are situations that cause severe consequences in both physical and mental health of the workers. The objective of this project was to determine the psychosocial risks to which the gas inspectors are exposed to, and the factors in their origin. To do so, it was used a psychosocial risk factor identification survey and a simplified psychosocial risk assessment method. It was verified that professionals are exposed to several psychosocial risks, and that some of them lack of immediate resolution, such as the stress due to attention effort, moral harassment, professional exhaustion in terms of both physical and cognitive demands and the absence and limitation of decision making and participative autonomy.
