Work instructions and safety of machines in a metalworking company

Abstract

This paper result of an applied project with the purpose of determining the safety conditions of machines and operators, preparing working instructions, analysing machine documentation and existing risk maps, as well carrying out consultation procedures with the workers regarding occupational safety and health. The methodology used was the inductive method. The research is applied, qualitative and quantitative, using a documentary and inquiry approach. The data were also obtained through semi-structured interviews with some collaborators, as well as by applying a checklist to the workstations. With the collective work, involving the different operators, 26 work and safety instructions were completed and posted alongside the respective machine, along with the list of authorized workers, indicating which operators are authorized to work with the machine. Training and information about the instructions were also provided and the forms to achieve them.
