This study has the objective to compile and make the respective analysis of the indicators of performance evaluation used in the management of OHSMS in Portuguese companies of the water and wastewater treatment supply sectors. From the analysis made to the indicators used by the companies covered in this study, it is concluded that it is necessary to focus more on creating indicators inductive face to the situation of excess use of results indicators, and should be more connected to corporate strategy and also related to financial and costumer perspectives. Turns out, is also important to define a standard model for the management of OHS, enabling a comparative analysis between different companies in logic of benchmarking. The same is verified when compared the indicators of the Portuguese with the indicators of the international companies in the sector.
